At next year's QCL we will bring back our panel discussion to continue the discussion around infertility.
At this years Queen‘s Charity Lunch, the Fertile Ground Foundation will host its first ever panel discussion. This years topic will be “The Importance of Self-care and Infertility”. This years panel will be led by Fertile Ground Founder and Executive Director, Shemaine Pickens and Co-Director, Courtney Dial-Thurman. It’s sure to be an excellent dialogue about how to care for yourself while dealing with infertility!
Co-Director, Courtney Dial-Thurman will join Executive Director, Shemaine Pickens on stage for this years discussion panel as Fertile Ground focuses on “Self-care and Infertility”!
It was an amazing experience hearing our panelists Nichelle Sublett and Chimere Neal speak about self-care and infertility!
Nichelle Sublett, Fertility Advocate, TEDx Speaker, and former Mrs. North Carolina 2018, lives by the quote “Be the change you wish to see in the world.” She is a Senior Immunology Specialist for Johnson & Johnson, and her passion is bringing awareness to infertility, which affects one in six couples nationwide.
Nichelle and her husband Harold welcomed their miracle son, Hudson Dean, in September 2019 after six, arduous years of fertility treatments and five miscarriages. Nichelle later gave birth to their daughter, Siena Wynn, in June 2022, also conceived through IVF.
Through her advocacy work and the #startasking movement, she aims to reduce the stigma associated with infertility, and spread hope to impacted couples by sharing her story of resilience and persistence.
Chimere Neal is a Charlotte native who currently works at Atrium Health as a Licensed Psychotherapist. She provides individual, family and couples counseling. Chimere believes in striving to help her client's reach their full potential and maintain their emotional well-being.
